Dino-Rama, 2023.

“Dino-Rama” was a weekend-long installation in the Ontario Science Centre and ran from December 8th-10th. Created in RTA830 (Co-Lab), Chau Nguyen, Angelina Almanza, Vicky Huang, Berra Sertkan, and I created an exhibition in light of the theme “Dinos in Motion” “Dino-Rama” is an immersive exhibit created by Team Egg, featuring an illustrated Microraptor in its presumed natural habitat. The display box showcases three main components: the artistic environment, the engineering marvel of Microraptor’s movement using scotch yoke and cam follower systems, and informative text boxes detailing Microraptor characteristics, flight mechanics, and the illusion of flight. This exhibit is engaging and educational, designed to captivate audiences of all ages, enhance understanding of Microraptors, and introduce STEM concepts to kids in easy-to-understand ways.

My role in the group was primarily design and aesthetics, but I also had a role within the technical aspects of the project, specifically the Microraptor itself (its wings, the wire attachments, and how it moves), in addition to the slots for the diorama.
