from a glimpse, 2025.

from a glimpse is a textile and shadow art installation that reflects on impermanence and change. From the outside, you’ll see shadows reflected onto the draped fabric of the cube and the surrounding walls. As you make your way in, you’ll see various flowers, leaves, and organic shapes made from paper strung throughout the structure.

They embody an organism; constantly changing, adapting, and responding to its environment. It’s a living system, an evolving entity, and not a fixed structure. It resists permanence through exploration in ways unique to the audience member. It will never be the same, not once, feeling like an ending and yet creating space for beginnings, all marked by this tension of the new, the old, and the evolving.

I invite the audience to come into the space and explore this ecosystem, playing with the light using flashlights and physically changing what they see around them. Move things around, tie chains up, rip the paper structures.
